Project Description
This project involved a full wraparound rear and side-return extension on a 1930s semi-detached home in Alderley Edge — one of the most technically demanding extension types available, requiring careful structural engineering, phased groundworks, and precise coordination between multiple trades. The clients had lived in the property for over a decade and were committed to staying rather than moving. Their brief was to create a single, flowing open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space that would connect seamlessly to the rear garden through full-width bifold doors.
Our in-house team managed every stage of the build from initial groundworks and concrete foundations through to final decoration and snagging — covering structural steelwork, brickwork, roofing, insulation, underfloor heating, plastering, tiling, joinery, electrics, and plumbing without a single subcontractor used at any point. The 48-square-metre extension was delivered in eleven weeks, exactly as programmed, and within the agreed budget. Stage payments were made by the client at four milestones throughout — no deposit was required and no money was taken before work began.
